At Conlon Dart, we enjoy many opportunities to give back and positively impact our community, and freely encourage our team members to participate in volunteering and community service opportunities whenever they can. This past year we participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and raised over $5,000 to help find a cure. We also worked with Mountains to Sound Greenway to help with the habitat restoration efforts at Discovery Park and later volunteered at Treehouse Wearhouse, an organization that provides basic necessities for youth in foster care.
Recently we spent time at the Rainier Vista Boys & Girls Club and hosted a workshop for their YouthForce group. Teens in this program focus on career development, professional skills, and building resumes to prepare for their first jobs. We had the pleasure of sharing a little bit about how our profession works. We then offered tips on interview best practices, workplace etiquette and the importance of believing in yourself and not giving up against all odds. We came away truly impressed with the level of support and dedication this program offers Boys & Girls Club youth members and would like to personally thank program director Marcus Jackson for allowing us this opportunity.
